Wine down after a long day at an exclusive virtual wine tasting experience with Maven Wave, an Atos company, and master sommelier Daniel Pilkey. Join us for a virtual tour and tasting of both Old World and New World wines.

Serving global enterprises, Maven Wave delivers cloud-focused expertise to guide you through all stages of the digital transformation journey.

Enjoy sipping on a carefully curated selection of old vs. new wines, comparing the wine-making techniques, flavor, structure, and overall experience of different varietals — pitting Old World producers against New World. This Old World vs. New World showdown pits an Italian Super Tuscan Cabernet blend against one of Mt. Veeder’s top Cabernet producers Mt. Brave for a look at how winemaking and farming practices influence the final product. The featured white wine selections are the epitome of great Sauvignon Blancs hailing from the New World region of Marlborough New Zealand and France’s Sancerre. Discover what makes these regions unique and what separates them in wine style, flavor, and terroir. When we’re not serving a fine glass of vino, Maven Wave serves global enterprises, delivering cloud-focused expertise to guide you through all stages of the digital transformation journey.

So, as you compare the taste of Old World vs. New World, think old legacy systems on-prem vs. the new advantages of the cloud! Sit back, relax, and get on cloud “wine” with Maven Wave’s cloud experts.

About Dan Pilkey:

Dan caught the wine bug at an early age, working his first job at Wente Vineyards when he was just 14 years old. After moving to southern California in 2002, he landed a position as sommelier for the Grand Award winning Addison at The Grand Del Mar Resort, where he began his pursuit to become a Master Sommelier. A position as Wine Director at The Elysian Hotel drew him to Chicago, where he managed over 10,000 bottles and began to develop his flair for pairings and discovery of unique producers and varietals.

Dan has worked in several two-star Michelin restaurants, including RIA and Sixteen, creatively pairing wines that played on counter-balancing the palette, while entertaining guests with anecdotes about the wines and producers. Dan has also worked on the sales and educational side as National Brand Ambassador for Cattier Champagne, as well as importing some of the world’s best Burgundy. He currently works as the Regional Sales Manager for Paul Hobbs Winery.

Dan passed the Master Sommelier exam in September 2018 and is currently pursuing his Master of Wine certification.
