Earlier this year, our mid-year awards blog highlighted the impressive shifts the Maven Wave team was undergoing four months into the pandemic. Not only were we migrating to a fully remote workplace ourselves, but we also had a crucial hand in ensuring enterprises had immediate access to Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) and were equipped with best practices to stay connected from home. In addition, we were deploying telehealth and healthcare data tracking solutions faster than we ever have before to meet the needs of healthcare systems and their patients.
In that blog, we predicted that although 2020 would present unforeseen challenges, when the world has healed and we look back, it will be the stories of innovation and persistence that prevail. Now, as we remain in our homes well into December, socially distant, digitally connected, and continuing the work of implementing long-term remote workplace solutions for our clients, we could not reiterate that sentiment enough. The persistence of our teams to keep going, remain agile, continue to aid in global innovation, and ultimately spearhead the new digital-first normal is what we will remember as we turn the page on a tumultuous year.
As such, it is especially humbling that throughout the tough work that Mavens were accomplishing this year, our organization continued to earn notable recognition and awards. Keep reading for a few highlights.
Global Women in Telco and Tech Awards 2020
Even during a pandemic, International Women’s Day, which falls every year on March 8, is an important day of recognition for our team here at Maven Wave. In 2020, we spotlighted our female-led marketing team, a team that played a pivotal role in our recent acquisition by Atos. The campaign was entitled, “International Women’s Day 2020: The Builders Behind the Brand – How an all-female marketing team positioned the Maven Wave brand to be a buyable asset.”
So when Capacity Media released their award categories for their annual Global Women in Telco & Tech Awards, we knew we had the perfect story to tell for the award of Social Media or Marketing Campaign of the Year. When the shortlist was released, our team was honored to be nominated alongside two incredible brands: Verizon and Digital Realty. In addition, we were excited to see Maven Wave’s parent company, Atos, nominated in several other categories.
In October, we were thrilled to learn that Maven Wave won the award for Marketing or Social Campaign of the Year for the Global Women in Telco and Tech Awards 2020 – a testament that our campaign successfully highlighted the strength, talent, and expertise of the women who are creating real value at a major tech brand. Crain’s Chicago Business Fast 50
Just last month, Maven Wave was humbled to learn that we were named the 22nd fastest-growing company in Chicago by Crain’s Chicago Business. The Crain’s Fast 50 list ranks Chicago-based businesses with the highest five-year revenue growth rates. This year’s award marks the seventh consecutive year that rapid growth has propelled our company onto the exclusive Fast 50 list, securing Maven Wave as one of the longest-standing names on the list.
Previously, Maven Wave was #12 in 2019 on the same list, #30 in 2018, #18 in 2017, #25 in 2016, #6 in 2015, and #2 in 2014.
Chicago Tribune Top Small Workplaces
Recognized by one of the most prestigious local publications here in the Windy City for the second year in a row, Maven Wave is honored to be named one of the Top Small Workplaces by Chicago Tribune in 2020.
According to the Tribune, “For the past decade, Energage has been ranking workplaces in the Chicago area and the nation through employee surveys, assessing everything from work-life balance to confidence in company leadership.”
Here at Maven Wave, it’s no secret that company culture is essential to our success, and we know investing in our talent contributes to delivering the best results to our clients.
Crain’s Chicago Business Rising Star in Tech
Adding some extra holiday cheer this December, Maven Wave is thrilled to learn just this week that our technology transformation lead, Uma Vandegrift, has made the 2020 Crain’s Chicago Business Notable Rising Stars in Tech list.
Uma Vandegrift leads the technology delivery transformation practice at Maven Wave, specifically working on digital migration projects, as well as identifying new business opportunities. She has developed and led an internal training program to teach agile and project management skills to the firm’s consultants.
Vandegrift also is active in the firm’s women’s resource group. “She is an effective mentor, aiding the development of five high-performing junior employees,” says Nicholas Polachek, senior principal and managing consulting practice lead. “She is also active in the broader Chicago tech ecosystem, working with startups and attending community networking events.”
“These 25 up-and-comers are making a mark in Chicago-area technology,” notes Crain’s. “Many of the rising stars have specialties in software development, IT operations, cloud migration, and data analytics needed to grow young companies but also to help larger and more established enterprises make better use of technology. During the pandemic, their skills are in more demand than ever.”
This list, published both in print and digitally on December 14 (in Crain’s largest issue of the year), recognizes 25 individuals for their success and accomplishments during the last 12 to 18 months. Congratulations to Uma Vandegrift for this monumental accomplishment, representing Maven Wave and women in tech in an incredible way!
Looking Forward to 2021
As the year comes to a close, the Maven Wave team is left with an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for the recognition we’ve received, the resilience of our internal teams, the health of our friends and family, and the clients who trust us during an uncertain time. Although we won’t be able to celebrate this holiday season together in person, we still hope to spread as much holiday cheer as possible throughout our organization virtually. And of course, the health and safety of our Mavens is our first priority as we look forward to a prosperous 2021.
It is also a time when we reflect on the community involvement and humanity throughout our organization, and how we’ve joined together with Atos as a united force while the world navigates a new normal.
In 2021, we’ll continue to be there for our team, partners and clients, both near and far, developing long-term digital solutions. If you would like to learn more about how Maven Wave can support your cloud initiatives as we step into the new year, contact us here.
