Maintaining Company Culture During Unpredictable Times: Maven Wave’s Mid-Year Awards Round Up

The first half of the year presented unforeseen challenges, but when we look back, it is the stories of innovation and persistence that prevail. Hindsight is truly 2020, and here at Maven Wave, we’re determined to continue supporting our customers, aiding in global innovation, and reflecting community involvement and humanity throughout our organization.

As we look back, we couldn’t be more proud of how our team has powered through this time of uncertainty with so much grace to support both our clients and one another. We kicked off the year by celebrating our acquisition by Atos – a match that has proven to be truly made in the cloud. Since the acquisition, we’ve continued to serve our clients in the Maven Wave way with forward-thinking solutions and the X-Factor team our clients have come to trust. Now a part of the Atos family, we’ve been able to take on bigger challenges and drive change faster, which has become critical in our unique, new environment.

As the year progressed and the pandemic came to a head, our team made impressive shifts in outward strategy, as well as in internal practices. Not only did our entire team seamlessly shift to a remote workplace, but our Mavens also offered a crucial hand in ensuring organizations had immediate access to G Suite and were equipped with best practices to stay connected from home

We’re incredibly fortunate to share the news that our resilient Mavens continue to earn awards in 2020 – further validating our efforts to continue pushing forward during a tumultuous, yet inspiring time.

Google Cloud Services Partner of the Year Award for North America

Maven Wave was humbled to learn the news that we had been named North American Google Cloud Services Partner of the Year for the third year in a row.

As a Google Premier Partner for the last 10 years, Maven Wave was recognized for its achievements in the Google Cloud ecosystem, providing exceptional service and enabling customer success by innovating, building, and delivering the right combination of Google Cloud solutions.

“It’s an unbelievable honor to win this prestigious award three years in a row,” said Jason Ruge, Global Head of the Google Cloud Enhanced Alliance at Atos/Maven Wave. “As always, our top-notch team members and clients have made this possible. Clients who choose Google Cloud are choosing to be more innovative while seeking exponential returns, and time and time again, it works. With Atos’ enterprise- scale and proven global leadership alongside Maven Wave’s strengths in digitalizing business with Google Cloud, the combination positions us to be the top Google Cloud services partner globally.”

Even though the team was unable to celebrate and thank our partners at Google Cloud, our clients, and our team in person, our Mavens were still able to feel a collective spirit of enthusiasm. Instead of gathering in San Francisco this year, we’ll be tuning in to the Google Cloud Next OnAir digital event starting next week. And our team put together this video to show their gratitude for the honor of being named 3x Services Partner of the Year!

Great Place to Work Certification® – 4th Year in a Row

Our commitment to not only choosing the right candidates, but to providing a fulfilling & rewarding workplace for our Mavens has not gone unnoticed. For the 4th year in a row, Maven Wave has earned designation as a Great Place to Work-Certified™ company based on employee feedback. According to Maven Wave’s Great Place to Work profile, 94% of Maven Wave’s employees say it’s a great workplace “compared to 59% of employees at a typical U.S.-based company.”

“Building and maintaining an exceptional culture for rockstar talent has been our #1 goal from the beginning, and it’s the basis for all of our success,” says Jeff Lee, Partner & Founder at Maven Wave.Maintaining this exceptional culture has taken on a new meaning during the pandemic. While working remotely, our team utilizes G Suite not only to work, but to stay connected with one another. We love our company-wide virtual happy hours, and our individual teams take part in their own virtual team bonding sessions as well.

We also made a point to ensure that our new hires feel the virtual love as soon as they are invited for an interview with us. Our recruiting team makes sure to greet candidates before interviews on the Google Meet platform, just like we would greet them at the door for an onsite interview. Once they’ve landed the job, we’ll continue our virtual engagement so that they aren’t feeling the pressure of starting a new position on their own.

2020 Best Workplaces in Chicago by Great Place to Work® and FORTUNE

It’s no secret that any Chicago award would have a special place in our hearts here at Maven Wave. That’s why we are incredibly grateful to Great Place to Work® and FORTUNE for naming us as #6 on the 2020 Best Workplace in Chicago – small & medium.

While being our home, Chicago is also home to some of the brightest-minded individuals and top-notch tech companies. We know we’re not alone when it comes to prioritizing company culture, and therefore this award means even more to us.

2020 Best Workplaces in Consulting and Professional Services by Great Place to Work® and FORTUNE

If we still weren’t convinced that our employees are enjoying their experience as a Maven, our next award surely cements it. This quarter, Maven Wave was also named a 2020 Best Workplace in Consulting and Professional Services by Great Place to Work® and FORTUNE.

We feel extremely fortunate to have home-grown roots as a small consulting business that competed with the very best & largest consulting firms in the world very early on. Although we always knew we had something special, it didn’t take long for other global players to notice, which we know is reflected in our recent acquisition by Atos.  We feel this is also reflected in the workplace, as our employees are able to experience the best of both [consulting] worlds – a name they can stand behind and a hard-working, social, and friendly culture.

Inc 5000 Series: Midwest List

As much as we love talking about our culture – we do know that the proof is in the pudding, so to speak. We know that to keep up with the best consulting brands in the world, you have to have the numbers to reflect that. Maven Wave’s impressive year-over-year revenue growth has landed us on the national Inc 5000 list for several years now – an accomplishment we take great pride in. So we were especially excited to learn how we ranked on their 1st annual Midwest List. Maven Wave is proud to be named #118 on the Inc 5000 Series: Midwest List in 2020.

What has contributed to this growth? Startups succeed because of a confluence of grit, insight, and timing, and yes, we had all of those attributes. But the two most important ingredients for startup success are top-notch talent and exciting clients willing to trust us with their toughest challenges.

As mentioned above, when we look back at the first half of 2020, we are proud of our contributions as a company to support our clients, our community, our Mavens, and the global technology landscape. Looking towards the second half of the year, we know that there is still work to be done, challenges to overcome, and new goals to reach as a company. We look forward to working with our clients to overcome their business-critical challenges in the second half of the year.
