Wrapping Up a Successful 2019, But an Even Better Decade for Maven Wave

As 2019 comes to a close, we are looking back on our last 12 months of work with overwhelming gratitude. The Maven Wave team has yet again pulled off a groundbreaking year of incredible growth and continued success.

We’re closing out the year with the exciting news that Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, has announced an agreement to acquire Maven Wave. The acquisition will accelerate our mission to drive digital transformation for our enterprise clients at an entirely new speed and scale while providing our people with exciting new opportunities.

But before we take this step forward with Atos, let’s look back at how we got here. This year-end also marks a unique milestone for us, as it’s the end of the decade that transformed our brand from a startup to a recognized industry leader, adding 71 new Mavens in 2019 alone. Just last year, our founders sat down with JSA TV to take a deeper dive into what has contributed to our decade and counting of success.

But the tried and true reason for our success has always been our hard-working Mavens, and their integrity has led to significant accomplishments this year. In fact, by mid-year, Maven Wave had secured six highly-sought after awards, most notably, being named 2018 Google Cloud North America Services Partner of the Year at Google Next.

We carried that momentum through the second half of the year by earning four more top-notch awards:

1. Inc. 5000 Fasting Growing Companies

Maven Wave is very fortunate to not be a stranger to the Inc. 5000 list, and this year, we hold spot #1515 on the list, boasting a 273% growth. “Companies on the 2019 Inc. 5000 are ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2015 to 2018.”

In previous years, Maven Wave had secured #3292 in 2016 (evaluating 2012-2015) and most notably, #641 in 2013 (evaluating 2009 to 2012). Our leadership takes pride in our ongoing recognition associated with company culture and providing a great place to work, and we are further validated in those efforts when we are awarded for the revenue-driven results that are generated by our hard-working team.

2. Consulting Magazine’s Fastest Growing Firms

The Consulting Magazine Fastest Growing Firms list is another highly prestigious list that we are lucky enough to have been on more than once. In fact, 2019 is the fifth consecutive year Maven Wave has been honored with inclusion on this list by Consulting. This year, however, was especially exciting for us as we placed in the top 25% of the rankings.

To commemorate the award, Consulting Magazine sat down with Maven Wave Partner, Phil Jennings, to uncover more insights about what contributed to our recent growth.

Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm’s exceptional growth?

Jennings: Since inception in 2008, Maven Wave has been doubling in size at least every 20 months. Our #1 asset is truly the team we’ve built. We’ve brought together a group of people who deliver a coveted combination of technology skills, industry expertise and an “X Factor,” —what we call general like-ability, charisma, and professionalism that encourages everyone around them to work harder. In fact, everyone we hire has this “X Factor”—from consultants to management to developers. Our relationship with Google Cloud has also been a factor of growth for Maven Wave. We entered the Google channel in 2010, and every year since then, we’ve been recognized by Google for excellence in one way or another. For the last two years, Maven Wave was named the Google Cloud North America Services Partner of the Year.

Consulting: How would you describe your firm’s outlook for 2020?

Jennings: We’re headed toward the era of “smart everything.” The devices around you are going to know more about what you want, need, feel, and think, which is going to create a wide range of opportunities (and fears). Alongside that is the burgeoning world of data analytics and machine learning, which involves a complicated process of “data wrangling” to pull usable information out of silos and unleash its real potential. Machine learning will soon be built into everything that we touch.

3. 2019 Best Small & Medium Workplaces

In addition to being recognized for rapid growth, Maven Wave was also recently named #63 on the list of the 2019 Best Medium Places to Work by Great Place to Work® and FORTUNE magazine.

“To determine the Best Small & Medium Workplaces of 2019, Fortune partnered with global people analytics firm Great Place to Work to analyze feedback representing more than 127,000 U.S. employees.”

Commenting on this award, Jennings noted, “At Maven Wave, we look for employees that have ‘X-factor’. We continually strive to foster creativity and diversity, which helps us attract the top skills, talent, and expertise to be able to deliver on the most effective strategies for our customers.”

4. Chicago Tribune’s Best Workplaces

If you know Maven Wave, you know we love our city, so we of course have an abundance of hometown pride for Chicago. That’s why we are especially honored to be recognized by a prestigious local publication, The Chicago Tribune, as a Top 150 Workplaces of 2019.

“For the past decade, Energage has been ranking workplaces in the Chicago area and the nation through employee surveys, assessing everything from work-life balance to confidence in company leadership.”

Here at Maven Wave, we strongly believe in our company culture and investing in our talent, which we know contributes to delivering the best results to our clients. This month, we were able to come together as a company and celebrate our monumental decade of growth and success – and how better to do so than Gatsby-style! Check out some photos from our Roaring 20s themed holiday party here.

Thank you to all of our employees, clients, and colleagues for a great 2019. We are looking forward to another decade of growth, together with you, our community of supporters, as we join Atos to help enterprise clients drive growth and value to new heights.
