Google Apps Case Study: Global Logistics & Distribution Firm

The Business Situation
A global logistics and distribution industry leader, is on a mission: to deliver the best value to benefit customers and carriers through an ongoing commitment to innovation and sophistication of systems and an overall dedication to excellent customer service.  Company chose to go Google because their previous messaging, collaboration and productivity suite was not driving the requisite value in the organization, especially in relation to the sizable dollars invested.  Leadership turned to Maven Wave for an enterprise-wide implementation.

The Deployment Approach
The Google Apps toolset appealed to company's senior team as most of their employees were already familiar with Google as users in their personal lives. Company's leadership viewed Google as an innovation leader in this space, and this vision appealed to the organization.

Maven Wave first advised leadership on their decision and contracting with Google. The initial implementation was completed in less than 3 months with a single, cut-over migration.  In addition to providing ongoing support and maintenance services for the Google Apps platform, Maven Wave has also collaborated with company's business operations team to identify, build and deploy value-added Google Apps solutions.


The Partnership
Based on our familiarity of the business model at company and our prior work together, Maven Wave was asked to lead the project from start to finish in close partnership with their leadership team. Involvement at the most senior levels in the organization has allowed us excellent insights into aspects of the Google platform that will be the most valuable for company.  This also enabled us to help company evaluate and prioritize new apps and enhancements.  To date, Google has already provided a better ROI for the organization than expected, which has translated to better TCO and improved value for the business.
